MEET THE CANDIDATE
Cliff R. Sudler, Jr. brings more than three decades of proven public safety and leadership experience to the role of Sheriff. A retired Chief Sheriff's Officer of the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office, Cliff served 25 years protecting the public, leading specialized units, and rising through the ranks by merit scoring number one on his promotional exam to Captain.
Throughout his career, Cliff worked undercover on fugitive investigations, supervised personnel, responded to emergencies, and strengthened crime prevention and community policing efforts. His experience extends beyond law enforcement into executive leadership, having served six years in higher education public safety and most recently as Director of Public Safety and Security for Atlantic Cape Community College, overseeing security operations across three campuses.
Cliff is a certified public manager with extensive training in internal affairs, incident command, emergency response, and threat assessment. He has negotiated contracts, managed budgets, developed policy, and led teams under pressure always with professionalism, accountability, and respect for the law.
In addition to his public safety career, Cliff formerly served on the Galloway Township Council and has long been active in community and civic leadership, including as a former president of the Mainland-Pleasantville NAACP.
His career reflects a clear commitment to fair, effective, and constitutional law enforcement that serves the community with integrity.
